I Always Feel Awkward and Anxious in Social Situations. i Want to Connect With Others but Don’t Know how to Start a Conversation or Keep it Going. What Should i do?

Dear friend, I completely understand how challenging and frustrating social situations can feel. Please know that you’re not alone in this struggle, and it’s absolutely okay to feel this way. Many people experience social anxiety, and it doesn’t define your worth or potential for meaningful connections. Remember, social skills are just that – skills that can be learned and improved over time with practice. Start small by smiling or saying hello to people you encounter daily. When in conversations, focus on being genuinely interested in the other person rather than worrying about how you’re being perceived. Ask open-ended questions and listen actively. It’s perfectly fine to have moments of silence – they’re natural in conversations. Celebrate every small victory, whether it’s making eye contact or sharing a brief chat. Be patient and kind to yourself throughout this process. You have unique qualities that make you special, and the right people will appreciate you for who you are. Socializing is a journey, not a race, and every step you take is a step forward. You’re doing better than you think, and I believe in your ability to grow and connect with others at your own pace.
