Dear new parent, I want you to know that what you’re feeling is completely normal and valid. The arrival of a newborn is indeed a life-changing event that can feel overwhelming at first. Please remember that this phase is temporary, and you’re doing an incredible job. It’s okay to feel tired and to miss your old routine – it doesn’t make you any less of a wonderful parent. As your baby grows, you’ll gradually find new rhythms and routines. In the meantime, try to be kind to yourself, accept help when offered, and remember to take small moments for self-care, even if it’s just a few deep breaths or a warm cup of tea. You’re not alone in this journey, and with time, you’ll find a beautiful new normal that includes both your precious baby and aspects of your pre-parent life. You’ve got this!
